Engagement: How Cory Proposed

Let me first just preface with the fact that Cory and I have been dating for nearly 6 years now (our anniversary being in January).
And I'll admit, after being with someone for such a long period of time, I began to doubt that Cory would ever have the opportunity to "surprise" me with a proposal.
Needless to say, I was happily wrong.

After spending the better part of 48 hours working on a plane, Cory called and told me he was starving and to come over to go grab a bite to eat. Granted that this was 9:30 at night, I was not hungry at all, and I was nursing a sinus headache. But I sucked it up and went to see him.
Just another normal day at Cory's job...sitting on Boeing 777s

(Now as another side note, having Aspen, our husky, is like having a little kid. When we walk through the door, she runs, she jumps, she dances circles around us because she is that excited that we are home. And when she's done, you are wearing a really snazzy fur coat.)
Looks a little like this...

Aspen was no short on the love tonight when I came walking through the door. Cory's on the couch, dressed and ready to go, while Aspen is wagging her tail begging me to pay attention to her and yet more importantly looking at her treat jar to signal she wants some candy.

That's when Cory says, "Babe, she wants you to give her a treat."
I said something like "Oh, yeah, baby girl? I'm sorry. Here ya go."
From there, I lifted the lid to the treat jar to find this handpicked by the mister himself....

...and whipped around to find Cory on one knee.
Cue the big hugs, nervous hands, and Aspen almost eating my ring because in my excitement,  I had left my ring in the jar and forgotten to give her a treat.

I couldn't have asked for anything more perfect for us.

xoxo,
