Weekday Happies

These sweaters from Target have become my official uniform of sorts.
So so soft, so so comfortable, and long enough to cover my butt. Win, win, and win.

My two latest cheap thrills, L'Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Coral Tattoo (wearing in above photo) and Maybelline Color Whisper in Pin Up Peach. I totally get why everyone is so gaga over these.

During my last work trip to Los Angeles, I made sure to bring my old empty MAC containers I have been saving for years, and traded them in for some free eyeshadows. You see, if you go to a stand alone MAC store (not the one you find in department stores), they give you a free eyeshadow, lipstick, or lipglass for every six containers you recycle. In department stores, you only get a free lipstick, and considering I don't really wear lipstick, I decided to save them until I visited a city that has a stand alone MAC. SCORE.

The shades I chose are clockwise from the left: All That Glitters, Shale,Tempting, and Mulch.

And last, but certainly not least, the trinity of Easter candy has hit the shelves..
I'll take ten of each, please! :)

a child's logic

There is something about being around a child that I find myself thinking "I should write this down..this is hilarious"...and I never do. Until today.

You see, I've been babysitting my three year old niece, Autumn Marie, for the better part of two weeks (I've been traveling the Jackson area), and what I've noticed is that she lovvvves playing dress up. It's her favorite part of any day. In particular, she rotates between being a purple and pink princess and twirling around as Snow White. Y'all, let me tell you, when I say she lovvvves these dresses..I'm talking hard core, she going to sleep in these dresses SOHELPMEGOD love.

her two favorites

So one random day as Snow White, her dad jokingly asked her which princess she was dressed up as..
"Are you Cinderella?"
"Noooooooo."

Are you Ariel?"
"Noooooo."

That's when I chimed in..
"Wait! You must be Pocahontas!"
"Nooooooo!"

"How about Sleeping Beauty??"
"Nooooo!"

By this point, she was getting a good kick out of this so then we finally asked her..
"Well, who are you then???"

"I'm Autumn!..duh."

This Weekend

I enjoyed a cup of coffee in my new owl mug.

I had a good hair day with no one to see and nothing to do. Isn't that the pits?

I babysat the nieces while my sister and BIL are out of town.
Our activities included: dressing up as princesses, various target runs, and a ton of arts and crafts.

And painted my nails with OPI's I Have a Herring Problem.
I'm diggin' its little flecks of gold without it screaming "I HAVE GLITTERRRR ON MY FINGERS."

Now I'm headed home to go see that handsome husband of mine.
