Happy Halloween, y'all

Or the one day a year that you can be whatever you want.
I remember in college to looking forward to all the Halloween parties, dressing up, and acting a fool.
Now, eh, not so much.
The last time I really dressed up for Halloween was when I was a freshman in college, and I was a pilot. I think that same costume would now be considered a shirt...

Instead this Halloween I will be celebrating with
watching way too much Hocus Pocus (my favorite!)

eating way to much candy corn
(did you know they sell this stuff year around
yet this is the only time of the year I won't get strange looks for snacking on it?)
having a costume contest at work
I'm going to break my costume hiatus and go as a trophy wife.
It was the perfect excuse to pull out all my old pageant memorabilia.
And what kind of trophy wife would I be without homemade baked goods?
And themed no less?
And last but not least, obsessing over my nieces Halloween costumes.
A (homemade) parrot and her pint sized pirate.

Happy Halloween,

This Weekend

I went to a low key Halloween party
(dressed as Rachel Berry from Glee, knee socks, ballet flats, and all)
had a wine night with the girls to decorate pumpkins
I decided to forgo the carving and cover mine in glitter
and baked a themed treat for my office Halloween party.
(more to come on that tomorrow)

How was y'alls weekend? Get into any early Halloween fun?

The Weekend: New Orleans

This weekend was fun to say the least (the "I'm honestly suprised I have enough energy to type this" kinda fun).
Cory and I went to New Orleans
we stayed at the historic Place de Arms right off of Jackson Square.
This place was beautiful on the outside...
But creepy and supposedly haunted on the inside.
Seriously.
I was woken up by strange, uncalled for noises at 3:00 am...

But never the less, we enjoyed all the local flair
which including getting getting my fortune read,
drinking a lot of coffee,
and going bar hopping on Bourbon.
Oh yeah, and attending a wedding (the whole reason why we were there!)
This is where Cory's lovely cousin, Stephanie, got married...the Saint Louis Cathedral.
Bride's OOTD - Oscar de la Renta (yes, I was jealous)
followed by a gorgeous fairytale reception at the St. Louis Hotel
and a whole slew of photo booth pictures

Now, can you even imagine that I woke up early on Sunday in order to get back home for a baby shower I was hosting that night?!?
Because I totally did.

This Weekend

I busted out OPI's Bahama Mama during a self made mani
I decorated pumpkins with my two nieces, Ava Grace and Autumn Marie
This one is "Franken-Pumpkin" painted by Autumn Marie
I witnessed my very first blogger buddy marry her best friend (yay for Jen-Marie!)
and pampered some very adorable kittens that were found abandoned in my backyard.
Currently I'm trying my best to find these little men a home.

This time next week, I'll be visiting my favorite city, New Orleans, for a wedding.
Can. Not. Wait.

Hope y'all had a good one!

Product Review: Birchbox

Now, I'm sure an overwhelming amount of y'all have already heard about Birchbox.
But for those who have not, this post is for you.

In a nutshell, you pay $10 a month to have four to five hand-picked deluxe samples delivered to your door. And if you like the samples, you can purchase the full product from their website.
For the beauty fanatics, this is a dream.
Packaged all so pretty in a box within a box
with a little note
And this is what I got for the month of October (L to R):
Ahava Enriched Intensive Foot Cream
Ahava Mineral Hand Cream
Sunday Riley Modern Skincare Juno Transformative Lipid Serum (did I mention that this retails for $125!?)
Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Under Makeup Primer in Bronze
Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner

Cory surprised me for my birthday, and bought me a year's subscription to Birchbox, so be expecting reviews each month on the products I receive. :)

Love: Tinley Road

On my quest to find a new fall handbag, I came across Tinley Road and their line of affordable baubles on Piperlime.
Omg, love.

And all of them were under $25. WHAT?!?
Has anyone purchased from Tinley Road before? How was the quality?
