Wait, guys...Where are you going??

I know some of y'all are probably sick of following this blog because I update it, umm, never.
I promise you videos, makeup stuff, and I give you nothing.
And for that I apologize.
So let me tell you what I've been up to lately...cue the small violins.

I've been working. A lot. And most of you know what I do, but for those who don't, I do not exactly have the best of hours to check up on the ye ole blog. Some days I get up at 5:00 am. Others I get off at 10:00 pm. I spent these past few weeks of my free time sleeping, eating and chasing my two nieces.

I've been thinking about going to grad school. Scratch that. I WANT to go to grad school, have since I was a freshman in college. And somewhere between studying for admissions, applying, and all that jazz, I may actually have an opportunity right now to go back.

I'm in another wedding in a couple of weeks that will take place in Kentucky. The bride (another sorority little sister, I might add) is super chill and I'm going to be carpooling with her parents. I cannot wait! But dear Lord please let the weather be nice. My dress is satin, and I do not want to be melting like a candle in the photos.

What have y'all been up to lately?

My Little Sister's Wedding

My sorority little sis that is. ;)

Seriously I am so blessed to know such a wonderful couple. Libby is such a smart and more importantly kind individual, and Austin is the definition of a gentleman. I was so happy to be able to share the day with both of them.

To bad I do not have any professional photos to share...

But to just add to the hilarity of it all, guess who caught the bouquet.
This girl did.

I Was Just Saying Last Week...

how I thought it was odd in this day and age that gay marriage is still not acceptable across the nation.
It's not like I have a surplus of gay friends and none of my family members to my knowledge are gay. I've just always been raised to never judge anyone for any reason.
Then not even a few days later, New York finally passed the bill to legalize it.
This is an enormous step toward equality.
Because, you know, love is love.

Lets think about it.
Could you imagine not being able to marry the one that you love?

You may ask, and yes, I'm Catholic.
I believe in God.
But I also believe in a loving God, and equal opportunity God who created us all the same in His eyes. And he taught me to love, not to hate.
Some may call me liberal.
If liberal to you is being unbiased or being open minded or even being a tree hugger, then yes, I'm a liberal.

But first and foremost, I am an individual excited for the future. And proud to know some of friends can enjoy the right of marriage.

New Do (& New Tan Too!)

The highlights are gone, and a new darker do is in.
I decided to take the plunge after all the pictures of Kate Middleton continued cropping up, and I became in love with her color.
The color is a dark chocolate brown, and I'm in love with it.
Straight out of the salon.
If I had gone any darker, I would have looked like a vampire. That prompted me to bust out the St. Tropez self tanner mousse I purchased from Sephora last month.Especially being in a wedding this weekend prompted me to get the tan fast. Busting out all this bronze made me reflect on all the ole pageant days. haha
No vampire here...and this was just two days after the other picture.
I first heard of this self tanner from the likes of Guilianna Rancic (yep, she told me herself and everything.). I really like it because it adjusts to what your natural coloring would be. I applied two coats to get bronzed, but the first coat what good enough to make myself look healthy. I also like that it also comes out tinted so you can see where you are missing it.

Have y'all tried this? What self tanners do you use?

New Nails

This week I purchased my first set of Sally Hansen's Salon Effects nail stickers, and omg, am I addicted.

They have outlasted the lake, the pool, crafting, and working. And still have yet to chip.
I even had a grandmother compliment my gold glittery nails.
I purchased a lacy look for next time.
Have y'all tried these? What do y'all think?
