Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, 4, 8,15,16, 23, 42

Tonight my utmost favorite show ran it's final episode.
I really did not want it to end (I mean, I have devoted a whole 6 years to watching it), but I was happy to finally see how the show came full circle.

And if anyone should receive an award for The Total Most Awesome, Complex, Love Him/ Hate Him/Then Love Him Again/Now He Just Confuses Me Actor Award, it should be this guy.

And I will say this after watching the finale, the show was ended beautifully. I would highly recommend to anyone who has never watched Lost, started watching it and stopped, or never thought the show would be worth it, to go out and find your nearest copy.
It definitely does not disappoint.

What I'll Miss the Most:
- Sawyer's quick wit sayings
- The hidden eggs in every episode
- The amazing storytelling flashbacks
- Locke's way of comforting someone with his easy-going grin

Now...what will I watch now???

Hat Season

I'm not sure if the fashion world would necessarily call this time of year "hat season," but to me it is! When I picture summer, I see myself wearing a light sundress with a big floppy hat to protect not only my face but my scalp from possible sunburn (Been there...not fun...)

Right now, I am in love with these hats:

Charlotte Russe's Straw Floppy Hat (and for only $7, how can you beat that??)
Urban Outfitter's Pins and Needles Double Bow Straw Bucket
Urban Outfitter's Deena and Ozzy Straw Hat
and for a pop of color, Newport New's Paper Straw Hat

Do ya'll have any favorites?

Yippee! Another Blog Award!

Thanks to the lovely Elizabeth over at In the Pink, I am now a proud member of the Preppy Mafia! I started reading Elizabeth's blog because of her love of arts, fashion and of course, PINK! Her artwork is lovely, and I think you should all check her out!
The Rules:
Click on the above button and paste onto your blog/website. Answer the below questions, then pass onto 10 bloggers that you love, go to their blog and let them know they've been tagged!
1. Who is your style icon?
As cheesy as this sounds, I love the looks of Lauren Conrad and Ashley Olsen. They both can wear flashy, colorful outfits but at the end of the day, their looks are similar to mine - clean lines, dainty jewelry, layered clothes, long hair, and tanned skin.

2. What is your favorite socialite lit book?
I love the book The Gospel According to Coco Chanel.

3. Favorite party theme?
I never liked "themes" for parties or get-togethers. I rather just have fitting colors for the occasion, bold, classic table settings and delicious food. That to me makes the party.

4. Go to Halloween costume?
1960's housewife with full hoop skirt, apron and dolled up hair

5. Extravagance you cannot live without?
Would MAC makeup count as an extravagance??? I would have to think so!

6. Living person you admire?
I like to think that I surround myself with people that I admire, but my number one would certainly be my dear grandmother. She helped mold me into the person I am today.

7. Greatest Fear?

Not having anyone to share your accomplishments with, whether with friends, family or my significant other.

8. Trait you deplore in yourself?

Second guessing my true abilities

9. Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I could sing like Rachel on Glee!

10. Greatest Achievement?
So far, I would say my biggest achievement would be landing my big girl job this soon after graduation!!! :)

To My Momma!

Dear Mom,

Thank you for giving me life,

for knowing how to make me laugh,

for giving me hugs and "sugars,"

for fattening me up into a well rounded baby,

and sometimes having to simply deal with me...

I love you, Momma! Happy Mother's Day!

You favorite daughter (I swear I won't tell my sister),

Hilarity of the Day

Soon after posting my need for some FiveFingers shoes the other day, I get an email from my very sassy Aunt (she's really my cousin but for the sake of our age difference I refer to her as my aunt  to people not willing to understand how I can have a cousin much older than me) Cheryl, and it went something like this:

Subject: Your Blog...

Well, I thought I’d take a second and glance at your blog…. Hmm… what do I see?  I see some really ugly ass shoes!!

Vibrams Five Fingers – c’mon girl… you are way too young to be looking for comfort already… women your age are supposed to go for looks, style, class – and so what if they kill your feet!!!  They look sassy!  NOW, someone my age… these would be a maybe.  Although, I supposed you could get away with it since you are in your 20’s and everyone expects you to wear weird stuff.  In any event, get them, wear them and come over so I can make fun of you!!!  Love, Cheryl

p.s. Buy your ugly ass shoes…. if you like them.  Besides, with your looks and figure – they’ll look good on you!

Love, Cheryl

Reason # 137 why I love my family.

Umm...

Maybe I should have been a hippie in some other universe, but in all seriousness...I want these shoes.

Vibram's FiveFingers (yep that's the name) would allow me to feel barefoot without the risk of having nasty feet bottoms...plus I just love this quote from their website:

"FiveFingers footwear connects you to the earth and your surroundings in a way that is simply not possible in conventional shoes. It puts you in touch with the earth beneath your feet and liberates you to move in a more natural, healthy way. FiveFingers stimulate the muscles in your feet and lower legs to build strength and improve range of motion. Our customers report an increased sense of balance, greater agility, and visibly improved posture."

What do ya'll think???

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

If your mother is anything like mine, she is difficult to shop for. Unlike the woman who has everything, my momma is in fact the most minimalistic person I know (we are nothing alike obviously), and she is totally content with keeping it that way.

Still, what kind of daughter would I be if I did not get her a little something something on her day of days? Plus, I also do my two baby nieces a favor by getting my sister something "from them" on Mother's Day as well.

Here's some ideas I came up with:

Capri Blue Candles

Ya'll should already know from here that these are my favorite candles hands down.

Although the original Mississippi poured candle includes the choice between a red or blue glass jar, for the mother's who want something more chic, you can also choose between the 3 beautiful designed jars above.I personally adore the Volcano scent the most, but I can honestly say Aloha Orchid, Island Song and Peeled Navel Orange fragrances are wonderful as well.

Mistral Shea Butter Soap

Sweets
My mom loves the sweets! Cakes, cookies...especially ice cream...what would be a better gift than something she loves homemade?

Right now, I'm still working on a gift for my sister. I'm thinking of maybe a gift certificate to her favorite clothing store??

What are ya'll getting for your dear mommas this year?
