Prints Galore!

Spring has obviously sprung in the fashion world and the outfit forecast is screaming prints! May I remind you yet again that I am so excited to welcome the consistent warm weather and sunny skies. Memphis is almost teasing me with this semi lovely weather we have every few days. Not to mention the fact I have strep throat due to the daily rising and falling temperatures.

Here's a few more ideas to add to my spring collection wish list...all containing fresh, bright prints:
Lulu's If You Like Pinacoladas Dress

Forever 21's Floral Fun Woven Tank

Anthropologie's Javanica Tote

Good News + Good News = Conflicting Good News

Ok, so I've planned a trip to the Bahamas for the end of the summer with two of my girlfriends. Sounds great, right? Sunny skies, warm beaches and clear waters.
I mean really...who WOULDN'T want to go here?!

So now you're probably wondering, what the second good news could be. Well, I was offered a opportunity to become a manager at my new job...that I've been working for a whopping THREE weeks.
 Yep, that's me...living the dream.

I'm very proud of myself for finding a position in a market that I would absolutely love to grow in. It also doesn't hurt that I adore my coworkers and bosses. And granted, I also have a couple of others also interviewing for the position, so it may just all be in the cards as to what's going to happen.

My problem is this...if I get the job, I don't know if asking for a vacation a few months later would fly with my other coworkers - and I certainly do not blame them should they think that. Ultimately I would choose the job over the vacation anyways; what's difficult is I also hate ditching my friends.

Has anyone been in a situation similar to mine? What did ya'll do? Any advice?

Dang, DWTS, let's be harsh!

Ok, granted last night's Dancing With the Stars wasn't the most stellar thing I've seen in previous seasons, but I will give the dancers credit with it being their first appearance. I mean with Pamela "dancing" looking more like it's missing a pole or Jake twirling to Kiss From a Rose (I mean, deadgum....ABC needs to quit putting roses with that dude.), I think they did pretty ok for their first time on the dance floor.

Ok, let me rephrase that...SOME did pretty good for their first time on the dance floor. Like for instance:

1. Erin Andrews
Although she looked somewhat like Big Bird's little sister in that dress, I think she did a really sweet job dancing the Cha Cha. Or maybe I just want her big hair and flawless tan....

2. Nicole Scherzinger
I don't think you could be a Pussycat doll (especially the lead singer) if you didn't have SOME moves in your system. Wasn't a surprise, but I still loved the moves.

Oh, what the heck

In lieu of my Lenten sacrifice of not purchasing beauty products, I figured I would indulge you in what I already own: (plus I'm bored)

SKINCARE
-How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice - but I will admit to having laid oh so comfortably in bed a time or two questioning whether or not I should get up and wash my face or just deal with it in the morning (that's why I now have a stash of Neutrogena's Makeup Remover towelettes in my nightstand)

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I have oily-combination skin, but due to the weather here recently it has been VERY dry.

-What is your current facial wash?
Biore Revitalize 4 -in- 1 Self Foaming Cleanser...it's like a breathe of fresh air for my skin

-Do you exfoliate?
not as much as I should

-What brand do you use?
I'm wanting to purchase a Clarisonic Mia (in pink, of course)

-What moisturizer do you use?
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

-Do you have freckles?
Only in the summer after being in the sun

-Do you use eye cream?
Nope, never have, but I do use MAC's Prep and Prime Line Filler...I've always had the worst laugh lines (at least in my opinion!)

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Ugh, yes! Lets just say puberty hit me HARD...

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?

Yes, and I really liked it when I was in high school.

MAKE-UP
-What foundation do you use?
At the moment I switch between MAC Studio Fix Liquid, Clinique Superbalanced Powder and Clinique Perfectly Real Compact. I keep hearing all these wonderful reviews over NARS Sheer Glow though, so....I might have to make a purchase around Easter.

-How about concealer?
I use NARS Duo Concealer when I need to

-Do you know your undertone color?
I would say it's a neutral, yellow tone

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
Gorgeous if applied correctly and NATURALLY

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Since I use mascara everyday, I really have no worries in using it up by 3 months.

-What brand of mascara do you use?
L'Oreal Voluminous in my favorite!

-Sephora or MAC?
I love to mix and match my makeup collection, but if I had to choose just one it would be MAC forever and always.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope, but if I could, I would. Although I am no pro by any means.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Various MAC and Sonia Kashuk brushes.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Yes, it's not marketed as a primer but I use MAC Paintpot in Rubenesque.

-For the face?
Not at the current moment, but I've heard Sephora's face primer is wonderful and would be willing to give it a try. During the summer when my face can get super shiny, I use Cosmedicine Medi-Matte and it keeps me shine free in the hottest of temps.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
For me, to choose a favorite eyeshadow is like choosing a favorite child...but the one color I've used time and time again (3 pans to be exact) is MAC's Tempting. Lovely brown-gold color

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use both. MAC's fluidline on the lid and L'Oreal pencil on the waterline

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Every blue moon, mostly when I'm in a rush.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
Pigments come in lovely colors with enough product to last you forever, but they are also tricky and rarely used.

-Do you use mineral makeup?
I use Bare Minerals when I'm tan, and I especially love that they came up with Bare Minerals Matte to beat the heat.

-What is your favorite lipstick?
I have two I regularly switch up - MAC's Fabby and Clinique's Think Bronze

-How about lipgloss?
NARS Tempest and Chanel's Manifique

-What is your favorite blush to use?
I'm actually using MAC's Paradisco eyeshadow as a blush at the moment. It's a soft peachy pink color. My normal blush is MAC Dollymix or MAC Peachtwist.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
Never have, and probably too scared to. I've heard of too many problems with crappy customer service.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
My favorite mascara and eyeliner are from the drugstore and work just a well (if not even better) than my previous department store purchases. As a regularly used item, I find it silly to spend another $30 on a tube of mascara.

-Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
I went once when I was 15 and didn't find anything impressive.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
No, but I love learning tips and tricks from others.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I consider myself ok with everything but making a perfectly winged eyeliner. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's....yeah...

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Over tanned, orange skin or wearing way too much makeup

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I have some colorful shadows, but for the most part I love neutrals!

-Which celebrity always has great make up?
I'm jealous over Olivia Palermo, Ashley Olsen and Lauren Conrad's effortlessly flawless makeup.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Mascara

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
I could, but I wouldn't want to. I always run into someone that way.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I look like myself, I guess. Just not as polished? I don't know...I don't want to come off as a snob with "oh well, yes, I look gorgeous first thing in the morning" because that would be a lie! :)

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
for the most part, MAC. duh...

-What do you think of Makeup?
It's fun to play with, can beautify anyone when used correctly, and something I'll use for the rest of my days.

"You know what they say...once you kill a cow, you have to make a burger."

I love Lady GaGa. Most people don't. And some people don't even understand her. But regardless, I am obsessed with her new video for "Telephone," and in case you are as gaga as I am about her, here are some interesting tidbits/hidden things throughout the video that BuzzFeed figured out. Enjoy!

Another Blog Award!

Hey ya'll! So the amazingly sweet Emily of Emily Loves gave me this award. I love to read up on her blog for the latest fashions, makeup tricks and keeping up with her daily musings. I recommend everyone to go check her out :)

Here are the rules:
1. Thank & link the person who gave you the award
2. Pass this award onto bloggers you recently discovered and think deserve this award
3. Contact said blogs & let them know they've won
4. State 7 facts about yourself

Just to share this beautiful blog award with everyone, I tag all of my readers :)

And here's 7 random facts:

1. My sister named me after Whitney Houston and Elvis Presley. (My middle name is Erin which is switched up from the male version of his, Arron.)

2. I'm obsessed with owls...don't know why, don't know how...and no, I'm not a Chi O either!

3. If I didn't major is public relations in college, I would have chosen architecture or interior design.

4. I own a very large amount of MAC makeup, especially eye shadows (and I'm slowly finding new ways of using them up....Paradisco eye shadow works as a very pretty peachy, pink blush and Tint-A-Tete is great to highlight my cheekbones!)

5. I have not had a Dr. Pepper since Fat Tuesday...and it's killing me.

6. I started this blog over a year ago as simply one of my grade requirements in a PR class.

7. I absolutely LOVE to bake...yet do not have much of a sweet tooth.

xoxo,

Do terrible twos morph to know-it-all threes?

This past weekend my sweetheart of a niece, Ava Grace turned 3 years old. My sister and I used our combined craftiness to create a one-of-a-kind Princess Mermaid themed party. Here are some of the pictures I took (with my sister's own camera of course):

The mermaid backdrop
The homemade mermaid cake. The barbie was just rolled in fruit rollups but her fins ended up flopping by the time the cake was cut.

The lovely fish pinata
And Ava taking a whack out of it  :)
Homemade fish sugar cookies
And I can't forget my mom with baby sis, Autumn Marie. My sister dressed her in a smocked bubble to match with her sister's birthday theme

And last but not least, the beautiful birthday girl!

I think I was too busy/sweaty/excited to take any pictures with the birthday girl that day...but trust me, I looked like a wreck. Better that I left those out! :)

Hmmmm...

I feel like my blog is starting to lose its personal touch. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love sharing with everyone what I'm buying/wanting/craving/baking on here, but it would be nice to share with you some other things. Thankfully, I know the exact reason for this problem.

Unfortunately, I have no money to solve this problem. It all started when I lost my awesome camera during Bid Day LAST year, and I've been too lazy to buy one since.

Now I am lusting over this - Canon Powershot SD780

After watching this and playing with my friend, Molly's, first hand, I knew I had to have it. Now...about the money issue.

Regardless, here's to hoping for more personal posts without the crappy photos!
